Flowers often play an integral role in the expressions of profound human emotions such as marriage, funerals, religious rituals, anniversaries and other celebrations.
Flowers are often the symbol of love, gratitude and adoration.
Flowers are close to the heart of many people.

However, beside the flower lurks a shadow. Flowers are grown everywhere in the world and dragged all around the planet. This has an impact on the global environment. Some flower growers use fertilizers and pesticides, which are forbidden by international society. In addition, many flower workers operate under extremely bad conditions.

For these reasons, trade unions, social justice and environmental organisations have joined forces and developed a International Code of Conduct for the production of cut flowers (ICC). Minimal conditions for sustainable flower production are defined in this code and supported by trade unions, social justice and environmental organisations alike.

Flower growers can voluntarily commit themselves to this code. Once a flower grower meets the conditions, the flowers can be labelled as sustainable flowers.

When you buy labelled flowers, you can be sure your flowers were grown under acceptable environmental and social conditions.

Flowers can be more than just a gift from the heart, they can also be a statement of solidarity towards people and planet.
