Nederlands Bloemen Beraad (NBB-Dutch Flower Coodination) is a co-operation between two Non Governmental Organisations, Both ENDS and Organisatie Latijns Amerika Activiteiten and FNV Bondgenoten, trade union. All three Dutch partners are signatories to and co-owners of the International Code of Conduct for the production of cut flowers (ICC).

 

Our main objective is to improve labour conditions for workers in the cut flower industry and to promote more sustainable production of cut flowers worldwide. By making use of an International Code of Conduct for the production of cut flowers we try to achieve our goals.

 

The ICC is a set of standards for sustainable production of cut flowers. The guidelines are the interpretation of how these standards should be read. The ICC and its guidelines are internationally valid. Further elaboration of the ICC and its guidelines is developed in different schemes, Fair Flowers Fair Plants. Fair Flowers Fair Plants (FFP) is a new initiative to stimulate the production and sales of flowers and plants cultivated in a sustainable manner. Sustainable cultivated flowers and plants are grown in a way that respects people and the environment. These products are then presented to consumers under the label FFP.

 

In every country the implementation of the ICC and guidelines is discussed through a multistakeholder dialogue.
